The Department Heads of the Information Department of the Ulm School of Design

In the academic year 1954-55, Max Bense became the formative department director for the first generation of students. After they had finished their studies, Bense left the HfG and Gert Kalow took over the department. As a result, topics typical of Bense, such as cybernetics and information theory, lost importance and journalistic writing gained more weight under Kalow.
